Gyoza was first introduced to Japan in the early 1800s from mainland China.

Chinese gyoza are predominantly boiled or deep fried however, Japanese Gyoza have evolved independently and are the perfect combination of fried on the bottom and steamed on the top. The key to the deliciousness of Japanese Gyoza is the contrast between crispy texture and juiciness!
